Papa's Birthday

Papa's Birthday was celebrated by making home made special Aata and Gur cake by Bhavisha and we visited New Govinda restaurant for dinner.

Morning walk 1st Day

I started Morning walk few days in March and then Lockdown happened. 

Started back with old school friends. Hope it continues.

Amazing Dinner

Had amazing dinner made by my lovely wife Bhavisha.

Stuffed Kulcha with Corn 🌽 Panir vegetable.

Loved it.

Eco Park trip

It was an outing after 6 months. My friend Rajesh with his 2 children and I along with Bhavya had a short 2 hours outing to Eco Park.

It was not crowded and weather was also very conducive. Mist air with cool air was so soothing. It was like having a fresh air after so many months.

Rajvi completing 14 months

Today Rajvi completed 14 months. In this pandemic, she has not exposed the outside world. 

Wish her to carry to Parks and Malls and have fun, but condition is not safe.

Though she likes a lot to go out. Everytime I get ready for office, she is the first one to reach door.

Today I received a whatsapp forwarded video. I listened, it was good. I listened the second time and felt great. I then listened third time and felt to absorb it word-to-word.

I recommend viewers to listen to this repeatedly till you thing that you have actually intake words in heart.

Forget and forgive ...... Micchami Dukkadum

Today its 7th day of Pious Parushan Festival. Unlike other years, this time its all at home. Early morning temple rush, listening to Vyakhyan of Gurubhagwant, then going back for doing Pratikraman and also listen Bhavna at times, makes the entire thing so religiously bonding.

However, a small virus has taught great lessons to human beings. Now every event, happiness, rituals are restricted to your family. Its time to have stronger family bonds. Not a time to quarrel and keep on thinking old/past errors/mistakes and feel sad about it. The real celebration would be when we actually start forgetting the past and forgive everything. Start taking things positive and with happy tones.

Let me from the core of my heart, apologize for all my mistakes..... intently or unintentional. If I have hurt you or anyone, then I seek forgiveness and really want to say MICCHAMI DUKKADUM.

Apmhan Cyclone

Super Cyclonic Storm Amphan was a powerful tropical cyclone which has caused widespread damage over Odisha and Bengal. Amphan was also the first super cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal since the 1999 Odisha cyclone, as well as the second-most intense tropical cyclone worldwide in 2020. The first tropical cyclone of the 2020 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, Amphan developed from an area of low pressure over the southern Bay of Bengal.

Since the morning of 20th May, Kolkata was windy, and then by noon drizzling started. By evening rain became heavy and say about 6pm onwards wind was blowing with force and rattling sounds outside and whistling from windowpanes started and it was at its peak by about 7:30. 

Already streetlights were cut-off with a view to save from short circuits. It was dark outside with occasional lightning brightness. It rained heavily for almost 4-5 hours and soon streets got flooded with water. Thankfully I parked my vehicle inside the garage and in commonplace inside the premises. Trust they are safe.

It was scary and frightening. Cyclone started to fed post 10pm, but again blow of strong wind started by about 11:30 around. The damage was severe and very difficult to ascertain in the dark night. Though social media was active in sharing information.

By the next day, i.e. 21st May, the rain disappeared with cloudy Sun. Streets in major parts were waterlogged. It was difficult to visit my office (though 5 blocks away) so I chose not to venture. I will assess the aftermath at the office only tomorrow when I visit.

About 72 lives lost and several injured with thousands going homeless. In the prevailing pandemic of Covid19, this is going brutal in Bengal.

  




 

My Doll is getting matured.

Today I had a good terrace night walk with my daughter Bhavya. She is now into10th year but she has matured of her age. We enjoyed the day by playing, a bit of gardening, studying, and watching comedy series 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai'. At night we went to the terrace for some walk-talk.

We started with normal chats and soon discussing good/evil, why people get angry etc. If God is there then why he allows bad things on earth? I explained to her about 'Karma' and how a thing comes back due to one's Karma. For this, I took the example of Krishna and the war of Mahabharat. Krishna knew everything, he could have used his power and could have stopped the war. But his role was to explain the truth, rest it was the individual's choice of accepting and overruling the same.

Her next question was whether our faith is not responsible for our future. Here I had to take some detailed explanation on that what we term faith is basically the accumulation of our past Karma. As our all Karma is not rewarded/penalize instantly, God provides us the opportunity to rectify our ill/bad Karma so that we get less penalty, but if it's accumulated for a long, we fall in a bad phase. Also, instead of taking responsibility for our bad Karma in the past, we blame it on Faith, so that we can earn sympathy. 

Then we had a discussion on Jainism. Why and how it is important to follow the writings of Jainism. How a small positive and constructive change can change an entire life. We discussed our various family members how they follow religion and what can be the future....... 

Then she said, if our (Jain/Hindu) culture was so rich, then why it is not followed........Now, this was a big answer, I may not be elaborate on this, but it flows like......

Earlier, the religious preaching was not written but, remembered and preached by followers, so there has been some dilution/change in original preachings...... Also, with the invasion of Islamic culture, right from Ghori to Akbar all looted and destroyed Hindu culture. Then she abruptly asked me then why her History book says good about Mughal Empire? (Now this was getting much detailed and tough). So I explained, Historians write books, and Historians were selected by ruling leaders and they would appoint only those who write well. So the world knows that Akbar had 'Navratna' and appointed Hindu in courtier. However, several Hindu and Jain temples were looted and destroyed during his reign. Several Hindu scholars and innocents were killed/converted to the Islamic religion. This has not been mentioned. Then it was British rules, they also did the same thing. They destroyed our culture so that we lose our unity and intelligence. 

Then why not after independence things were rectified? It was her instant question. So then I had to step into the Nehru Gandhi dynasty. How Sardar Patel could unite hundreds of small provinces to make a strong Hindustan. But one Jammu was not dealt with properly by Nehru. How in spite of all votes in favor of Sardar Patel, Nehru was asked to become PM by Gandhi. So I summarise that Gandhi wanted to be popular and Nehru wanted to be powerful, and this resulted in division and start of Nehru/Gandhi congress dynasty in India.

She was having so connected questions as if she was understanding all chronologically...... Bhavya then asked, Why Modiji is not doing anything to change this. Then I again had to say that our Nation was looted continuously till his ruling, that his focus is on uplifting poors and progress of Nation. It was getting too minute and I still manage to explain till we had time.....

Ultimately it was almost quarter past 11 and she was also feeling sleepy, so I decided to go back and call it a day.

What I realised that she as grown beyond her age in understanding Macro things at micro-levels. She is very sensitive but has strong understandings. I really wish her good luck for the future and stay blessed. Love you a lot Bhavya beta.

Rajvi's 9 Month Completion

Mata Rani Look

Today on 10th April, Rajvi completes her 9 months. She started has started standups and today showed her first sign of taking one step with herself.

She has started understanding few basic words and started responding in her own style. She has become an admirer by now and almost all who sees her can't restrain from blessing her.

God bless her and have a bright future ahead.

Today it was a mark of the 19th day of Lockdown by India to fight against COVID19. India is taking tough actions under great leadership of Modi. Globally, the death toll has reached over 1 lakh and America is having more than 7 lakh of Cases. Things are getting scarier day by day.
India is planning to the extent the Lockdown and WB have already extended till 30th April.

Bhavy's Birthday Celebration !!

On the 26th of Feb 2020, my darling turned 10. But due to her ongoing final exams of class IV, the celebration was postponed until yesterday. So on 1st March, we had a small celebration at home at 4.
It was a bit in a hurry that I tried to fix on some balloon decoration, as it totally skipped mind while making food and gift arrangements. I was helped by my nephew Krish in deco our house in a short span of 15 minutes. Her friends started coming by 4:10 and I was like fixing balloons ;-)

Bhavya was at centre stage with her new dress and all excitements. They played games and munching snacks and had dinner. Friends started parting by7:00 and then it was time for family members. My inlaws and sisters-in-law came and we had a good dinner time. The extended family departed by 9:30 and then it was all cleaning affairs and we retired by 11:30. But Rajvee was all awake and it was tough to make her sleep till12:30.

All in all a good hectic but fun-filled day.
